Standard Social Programme

Our standard social programme is specially designed for young people and adults of all ages who are disadvantaged in the world of work due to their disabilities.

At our special needs college near Manchester, we allow clients to train at their own pace, allowing attendance from one to five days a week – it’s entirely up to you. Our clients contribute to the world of work for 52 weeks out of the year in a caring and supportive environment,

We can help you to get involved in ‘real’ work activities in fields such as horticulture, retail, crafts, catering and office and reception work. At Midstream (West Lancs, serving Skelmersdale, UpHolland, Ormskirk and beyond) Ltd, we ensure that our clients are fully prepared for the work, and have a great time over the course of their training.

Our experienced faculty includes qualified teachers, workplace assessors, health professionals and social care staff, ensuring that our clients are always happy, comfortable and have access to real industry knowledge. All of our staff also hold DBS Enhanced Disclosure checks, giving you absolute peace of mind.

Pathways to Adulthood

Our Pathways to Adulthood programme at our vocational college for special needs, ideally located for Lancashire, Liverpool, Warrington and St Helens, is an enhanced social care scheme that is dedicated to helping young people – between the ages of 16 and 24 – with disabilities make the transition from school life to adulthood in a friendly, caring and nurturing environment.

This programme gives clients the option of attending our campus for two to five days a week during term time on a one, two or three-year course, offering word-based and classroom sessions with high support ratios to prepare clients for employment, independent living or voluntary work.

With supported work experience and personal care tailored to your specific needs, we will support you throughout your studies to ensure that you feel comfortable and fully prepared to enter the next stage of life.
