Work and Training Activities
Horticulture:
Plant cultivation in 14,000 sq.ft. of industrial glass greenhouses and poly tunnels. Maintenance and care of nursery beds and plants.
Contract
Gardening:
Corporate and private garden maintenance within the local community. Maintaining sports pitches and greens.
Landscaping
and Environmental Conservation:
On site project based landscaping activities. Clients feature and maintain six and a half acres of land incorporating natural streams, paved walkways, a wildlife habitat, sensory gardens, formal gardens and picnic areas.
Joinery:
Workshop producing wooden products for general retail, e.g. garden furniture, fencing, summer houses, bird boxes, bat boxes, hanging baskets, gates, etc.
Retail:
On site shop open to the public for the sale of plants, shrubs, handicrafts, flower arrangements, handcrafted wooden artifacts and associated items.
Hospitality:
Serving light lunches, snacks, morning coffee and afternoon teas for staff, clients, customers, visitors and the general public.
Information
Technology:
Providing an opportunity for hands-on experience and basic training in computer literacy for Midstream clients. Also provides numeracy and literacy tuition and job-search help and guidance for clients nearing completion.
Administration
and Reception:
Provision of work activity and training in general office, reception and administration within Midstream's registered office on site.
